I have a few tips and tricks for training while travelling and I have found that I actually quite enjoy a new environment to train in. Whether it be in my hotel room, airbnb, home or outside in a new city, I love finding new ways to train. I love trying new workout 'fads' and challenging myself with new routines and trainers. I do however, have my fall back options. These are running or walking, a body weight circuit that can be done in a small hotel room and a great app that provides me with a variety of body weight workouts that are great for anywhere!

Running or walking is my favorite workout to do when I'm in a new place and I have time to kill (extra bonus if the weather is good). Exploring new Coast lines (because I'm usually on location shooting near a beach) is a really beautiful thing to do and the new terrain keeps me entertained and distracted so I can really push through any lack of motivation. I also love soft sand running and if I can find some stairs then I'll add in some step ups or box jump movements.

As for my little body weight circuit, this is what I go to when I'm tired and lack the mental strength to come up with a workout! It consists of

50 squats, all done correctly (no cheating)

50 lunges, alternating between each leg (so it's 25 on each leg)

Then 1 minute plank/prone hold

I then continue with

40 squats

40 lunges

2 minutes plank/prone hold

30 squats

30 lunges

3 minutes plank/prone hold

20 squats

20 lunges

4 minutes plank/prone hold

10 squats

10 lunges

5 minute plank/prone hold

I try to focus on form rather than speed and make every movement count. You hardly need any room and you don't need any equipment.

My other go-to for workout inspiration when I'm on the move is the NTC Training app. This is a Nike app that offers a whole bunch of workouts with and without equipment, and for all different fitness levels! It's great at helping me out when I need something new to do and it runs you through how to do each exercise as well which I find really helpful.
